Christopher J. Ryan has been a drama for more than 20 years, working with such groups as
Mr. Thomas Garvin has taught High School for 14 years. He has taught award winning local and national level Marching Bands, Percussion Ensembles, Jazz Bands, Orchestras, Music Theory, Mariachi, Musical Theater and Color Guard! He has also instructed Elementary and Middle Schools Bands, Orchestra, Choir, Percussion and Jazz Bands in our own school district. Mr. Garvin has a BA in Music from Cal Poly Pomona, a K-12 NCLB Professional Clear/CLAD certified Teaching Credential and is due to complete a Masters in Educational Leadership in August 2009 from Walden University. Later in 2009, Mr. Garvin will begin a Doctorate program in Teacher Leadership, also from Walden University. Entering MVUSD in January 2008, he has been instrumental in the opening of the districts first Visual and Performing Arts focus schools. Additional professional achievements include: Winter Guard International (WGI) Concert Percussion Silver Medalist, Southern California Percussion Alliance (SCPA) Gold Medalist Concert Percussion, (SCPA) Bronze Medalist Marching Percussion, Winter Guard of Southern California (WGASC) Medalist in 1998, Southern California School Band Association (SCSBOA) Tournament Host and Honor Jazz Band Manager.
