The district's School Readiness Programs provide high quality, age appropriate activities that help children acquire the skills and behaviors needed to prepare them to enter school.  Children learn to follow directions; recognize numbers, letters and shapes; work in centers, develop social skills and follow a classroom routine. 

Children attend school three hours per day, 180 days per year.  Children must be four years old by December 2nd of the current school year. Classes are taught by licensed early childhood educators and all school readiness classrooms are licensed through the Department of Social Services-Community Care Licensing.

Kindergarten Readiness- Now Enrolling for 2012/13 

The Kindergarten Readiness parent-pay program offers a flexible schedule three, six hours or full day; from two to five days per week, 180 days per school year with extended year programs.  In 2012/13 full day Kindergarten Readiness is available at Lisa J Mails Elementary, 35185 Briggs Road and Avaxat Elementary (CDC), 24300 Las Brisas Road, North. A six hour/day program is available at E Hale Curran Elementary, 40855 Chaco Canyon Road. Half - day programs ( morning and afternoon sessions) are available at: Murrieta Elementary, 24725 Adams Avenue; Avaxat  Elementary (CDC) 24300 Las Brisas Road. North; Rail Ranch Elementary, 25030 Via Santee; Tovashal Elementary, 23801 St Raphael; Buchanan Elementary, 40121 Torrey Pines Road; Lisa J Mails Elementary, 35185 Briggs Road.

State Preschool-Now accepting eligibility applications for 2012/13 Enrollment begins May 1. If eligible you will receive an enrollment packet and enrollment appointment.

The district offers State Preschool Program funded by the California State Department of Education for children of families who meet the State's  income guidelines. In 2011/12 State Preschool is available at Murrieta Elementary,24725 Adams Avenue ( morning and afternoon); Lisa J Mails Elementary, 35185 Briggs Road ( morning only); Rail Ranch Elementary, 25030 Via Santee (morning and afternoon); Tovashal Elementary, 23801 St Raphael, ( morning and afternoon); and Buchanan Elementary, 40121 Torrrey Pines Road (morning and afternoon).

Preschool For All-Now accepting eligibility applications for 2012/13 .Enrollment begins May 1, 2012. If eligible you will receive and enrollment packet and enrollment appointment.

Preschool for All, funded by First Five Riverside, aims to provide children with universal access to preschool and it is available for children of families who do not meet or exceed by 50% the California Department of Education income guidelines.  To be eligible, families must live within the Murrieta Valley Unified School District boundaries.

In 2012/13 Preschool For All is available mornings only at Cole Canyon Elementary, 23750 Via Alisol; Monte Vista  Elementary, 37420 Via Mira Mosa; and Antelope Hills, 36105 Murrieta Oaks Avenue.  

Kindergarten Boot Camp- Now Enrolling for 2012 parent pay and subsidized
Kindergarten Boot Camp-Worried your child may not be prepared for Kindergarten? Want to transition from your current preschool to the school district? Kindergarten Boot Camp is a four-week, 5 days per week, 3-hour per day experience that could fill your need. Kindergarten Boot Camp focuses on social skills, following directions, number and letter recognition, collaborative center activities, and establishing school routines. This year's camp will be at Murrieta Elementary School, 24725 Adams Avenue. Two sessions: June 11-July 6, 8:30-11:30 a.m. (closed July 4) and/or
July 9- August 3, 2012
