Incident Communication Protocol

Report ALL OF these types of incidents to Karen Parris:

• Incidents necessitating a 911 call or a mental health incident involving a 5150
• Incidents involving students or staff members who are detained or arrested by police on campus
• Incidents that threaten, or have the potential to threaten, student and/or staff physical or mental health or safety
• Death or serious injury, suicide attempts or threats, or accidents involving students/staff
• Any other incidents that involve media/news coverage or are likely to generate media/news coverage

1. Incident occurs
2. Site administrator calls SRO, Murrieta Police Dispatch or 911 for emergency services
3. Site administrator or designee calls and/or emails Karen Parris to report incident

4. Depending on the type of incident, site administrator may call Dean Lesicko to request assistance from the Crisis Intervention Team
5. If Site administrator is unable to reach Karen Parris by phone, call Safe Schools Director Wayne Sakamoto  (951) 219-3456 or (951) 696-1600 ext. 1155
6. If Wayne Sakamoto is not reached in person call Deputy Superintendent Pat Kelley or Superintendent Stan Scheer.  
7. If a Parent Link call is necessary, contact Karen Parris for assistance and Superintendent approval.   Click here for sample scripts.
