All about Mrs.Clothier
I am very excited to be your teacher this year! I live in Menifee and have been at Tovashal for 16 years. I have been teaching for 29 years, including teaching in San Marcos, Del Mar, and a private school in Vista. I have taught kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 5th grades and have 17 years of experience teaching 2nd grade.

I graduated from San Diego State University and received my teaching credential from CSU San Marcos.  I  received my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University, Irvine!

I have been married for 42 years and have 2 sons and 2 precious grandchildren and a Welsh Corgi puppy names Sierra. I love going to the mountains (Hume Lake is my favorite place), going to the beach (I go to Carlsbad to visit family often), and am a big fan of Disneyland! I love to swim in my pool and ride my bike around the lake in our neighborhood. Teaching is such a wonderful part of my life, I have the best job in the world and can't wait to come to work every day!

My goal for my students
It is my goal that all students will love to learn, will have a growth mindset, will be excited and happy to come to school each day, and will learn at their highest potential.

I strive to meet each child's individual needs emotionally and intellectually. I treat each child as if they were my own and how I would hope that someone would treat my own child.

I emphasize character education every day with the goal that each child will develop stronger character skills such as respect, responsibility, and caring. Our class motto is the Golden Rule - to treat others the way they would want to be treated.

I have an important responsibility to make sure I teach all the California State Standards and strive to use as many resources as possible to make learning interesting, meaningful, and fun. It is my goal to prepare students for 21st-century learning on their journey to become college and career-ready!

Getting Ready to Come Back To School

I am so excited to see everyone next week!  We've all been through so much and it's going to be wonderful to be back on a regular schedule! I will do everything I can to make this big transition as smooth as possible! I have a lot of fun activities planned!  Students don't need to bring any supplies the first week of school, I will have everything they need!  I will send home a class supply list and "wish" list on the first day.  Just bring a backpack to bring home papers.  I will send home lots of information on Wednesday that will hopefully answer lots of questions!  I will let you know when my Canvas page is ready for you to see!
