I’m glad I’m getting a chance to connect with you all. I’m missing my students so much right now and would love to hear from them too. Thank you!March 24th email to families:
I hope you all continue to stay safe. Can you please respond to this email with your child's name so I can ensure these emails are reaching every family in Room 26? Thank you!
Reminder: Assigned Distance Learning will begin Monday, April 6th. You will receive a schedule of activities and assignments weekly. We plan to send the first week's schedule on Sunday, April 5th. You will get more information before then. The school district has sent announcements and provided you with programs to explore until April 6th. We will then continue to use many of those programs as we move forward. I was excited to see this morning that so many of you have begun using i-Ready Reading and continue to use i-Ready Math! Please don't stress now about this, it is not required at this time.
We will also be using the Imagine Learning program and it is available now. The publisher has opened it up to all students. It is an excellent resource for Reading and Vocabulary building. Mrs. Lindsley, Tovashal's IL expert, suggests skipping the initial assessment and just start with the lessons. She said the assessment is VERY long and unnecessary. The login is the same as the other programs.
I also want to pass on a few resources for you to explore at home with your child if you'd like.
Audible is offering audio books to children for free as long as the schools are closed. There are many great titles available and some have Reading Counts quizzes available.
Below is a link to a mini-lesson on Mystery Science about germs and hand sanitizer. They are developing an easy to use app that I'll share when ready but in the meantime I can share links to mini-lessons. They are usually about 5 minutes long and the kids really enjoy them.
Please do not hesitate to email with questions or concerns. I want to support you in any way I can.
Please don't forget to reply to this email so I know who has seen the emails.

Starting on April 6th we will begin our Distant Learning opportunities, however, this week the district has provided suggestions on the MVUSD website. I would suggest having your child focus on i-Ready Reading and Math.
