Piensas mucho aquellas en personas que sufren de COVID-19?  Escuchaste  a aquellos cantantes este fin de semana?   These are just ideas to get you thinking and writing.  Please write about what is going on in your life now.  Look up some Spanish words and write them in the margins.

    Week #3: Assignment #3 - Current Work (30 min of work / half page+) U2E3 - En La Ciudad:  Using Direct and Indirect Objects to create Double Object Pronouns. The purpose is to AVOID REPETITION of the direct and indirect objects.  The ORDER is always the same: IOP then DOP...or I.D (remember your ID!).  ALWAYS change "le lo, le la, les la, les las, etc to se lo, se la, etc.  It's a sound thing.  Remember Le lo is a bobo (clown = goof).  Spanish does not like the  double "L" combination...Maria le lo compra doesn't sound as nice a Maria se lo compra.     #1.  Read the notes on Double Object Pronouns (p 157 and / or Sr. C's web page: https://www.murrieta.k12.ca.us/Page/21906 ) Use acts on p 158 and Más Práctica pages 63-64 to help you decide what you what to write about.     Example: You gave money to the poor > Tú le diste dinero (a los pobres) porque tenían hambre.     (Tú) Se lo diste ayer.  Se lo diste cuando viste a unos niños sin comida.  Notice the benefit of     the Double Object Pronoun...Avoid Repetition!!    #2  Read about Teotihuacan (p. 160-1) and / or Yummy Mexican food (p. 163-4).  I want to buy          you tickets to visit Teotihuacan (Double OP) - add when? where? to make use of DOP.  She          ordered the flautas for me.  (when? where? why?)    Still curious? Use as much Spanish as you can.  Look up some words you don't know.  Write  them is the margin. Por qué tenían una fiesta los primos?  ¿Qué celebraron?  ¿Qué compraron para celebrar el cumpleaños de Mateo?    ¿Por qué a la prima no le gustó el pastel?  ¿Qué le importa a Mateo?  A Mateo le importa el pastel? ¿El refri? ¿La cortina? ¿Los problemas?    Describe the last party you remember.  What made is good or not so good? ¿Qué te importa en  una fiesta? ¿Restaurante? ¿Concierto?  ¿Una telenovela?  When do you tell people, "No te preocupes?"

    Week #2 Assignment #2: Review: 2 lessons (15 minutes each: a and b)

    The general goal is to write a half page or more for both a and b.  Draw pictures in the margins.  Personalize it to your life and what you know.

    a  Review"Stem-changing verbs in the present tense.  Practice using Acts 6-8 on p. 59-60.  Be creative.  Ask and answer questions.  Following the activities if okay, but its more interesting if you life gets mixed in☺. 

    b.  Reviewusing more irregular preterit verbs (see p. 61.  Remember the "Fui, fui" song???  Fui, fui di vine...  See acts 10-13 for ideas of what to write about (p. 62-63).  Personalizing make it more memorable.

    *Have some fun practicing with Quizizz!  Top scores earn bragging rights!  Unlimited attempts for super scores and increased learning.

     Week #2, Assignment #3: Current Work: 2 lessons (15 minutes each: a and b)

    Complete half a page of work for each lesson (a and b).  Draw pictures in the margins and share what you are doing with family and friends☺!

     a. Currebt Work (U2E3)Look at the notes on p 154 about Indirect Object Pronouns (IOP's).  The ones you might be most familiar with are: Me gusta... Te falta un lápiz...le moletsa su hermanito, etc  What follows the verb it the SUBJECT, not a Direct Object.  So these sentences can't take Direct Object Pronouns.   Me encantan tacos > Me encantan = I love them...THEM is the subject and is included in the verb "Encantan."  Uses p 155-156 for writing ideas.

    b  Current Work (U2E3) - Continue studying and using Indirect Object Pronouns (see p 154 for a reminder).  Practice using IOP's (Sells to whom?  Buys for whom) using the Más Práctica p 62.  Complete half of the problems.  Pics are highly encouraged in the margins.  How can your life be included?

    Español II - Assignment  for April 6/7, 2020.  Welcome back! I missed you☺!These should take about 60 minutes.  We will be using "Quizizz" so please register to do so☺.  I also hope to be using flipgrid, but the learning curve is sharper than anticipated to get it just right.Here we go:

    Wrtie the highlights, the lowlights and your hope for today.  Use as much Spanish as you know.  Look up a few words☺!

    2.  (5-10) How well do you know how to defend against COVID-19?  Take the quiz on "Quizizz" to find out.  100% is the goal.

    3.  (5-10) Take the "preterit" quiz on "Quizizz"  & play until you get it 100%.  Write down 5-10 words/phrases.  Describe ¿Qué hizo alguien?

    ¿Qué hiciste tú?  ¿Tus padres?  ¿Tus hermanos? ¿Tus primos?  ¿Tus amigos?  ¿Tus héroes?

    4.  (5-10) Review work: Read p 32-33 and lists 5 things that happened.  Read the notes on the preterit on page 36.  Look at activities 5-7 and complete 3-4 problems each.  Now, write what you and your family have done the last couple of days.

    5.  (5-10) New work (U2E3 - En La Ciudad):  Read notes on Direct Objects (and their pronouns - DO's and DOP's).  Practice with activities 6-        7.  Write 10+ sentences.  Read pages 148-149 for support.

    6.  (5-10) Watch episode 1, season 2 of "Buena Gente" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QsR3eAcDlY )  Write your comments on

    the characters, the mouse, world travel, Tenochitlan, etc.  Write for 5 minutes.  Like #1, write as much as you can in Spanish.  After 5 minutes, look up a few words you didn't know☺
