    Meeting Reminders
     
    We are back in full swing this year with two weekly meetings.   We will meet in E119 on Wednesday mornings before school (8:20-9:00) and Thursdays after school (3:20-4:15). 
     
     
    Logo and Cover Artwork Contest News -  We are currently accepting original student art submissions for consideration for this year's cover design.  Please submit an index card with your full name, grade, and LA teacher's name clearly printed on it, along with your original artwork.to Mrs. Chenard in room F107 (or Wednesday mornings before school in rm. E119).

    Congratulations to last year's winner, 8th grader Tiny (Jacob) Rivera, 8th grade!  His original artwork was featured on our Volume II cover!  
     
    Magazine Submission Deadline and Requirements - Get your entries in!!!  We need you!!!
     
    Original student writing, artwork, or photography can be submitted for any of the following categories:

    *Drama and Other Such Serious Stuff
    *Middle School "Daze"
    *Science Fiction and Fantasy
    *Poetry Corner
    *Adventure and Intrigue
    *Just for Fun - The Lighter Side of Life

    The most efficient way to submit written work (Microsoft word documents) or photography (saved as a jpeg) for consideration is to e-mail your submissions to Mrs. Chenard at mchenard@murrieta.k12.ca.us.
    Please put the following information in the subject line: 
    "Abstract Pencil" and your first and last name
    Hard copy submissions will also be accepted, and should be delivered to Mrs. Chenard in room F107.  Our submission deadline is February 19, 2014
     
    Original artwork may either be submitted in hard copy format or scanned and saved as a jpeg, then e-mailed as outlined above.  Artwork and photography may be in color or black and white.  Our online version of the magazine will display color visuals.  Our printed magazine will most likely be printed in black and white.
     
    Students may submit multiple pieces for consideration.
