    Wix

Wix is one of the most popular free website builders out there, with 110 million users. The fully hosted platform offers an easy drag-and-drop editor, and a large collection of professional-looking templates that are well-suited for small businesses, online stores, restaurants, or personal portfolios.

Wix supplies built-in Google Analytics to monitor your site, and even offers additional apps for individual preferences. If you want, Wix can even design your site for you. The biggest downside of Wix's free version is it doesn't come ad-free, and each page of your site will have a prominent Wix ad. Ad-free is only an option if you pay for the premium version.

    What Is Web Design?

Web design is the process of creating websites

Web designers use markup language mostly HTML for creating structure and CSS for presentation

A web designer uses images, text, html5, Responsive Web Design (the approach that suggests that design and development should respond to the user’s behavior and environment based on screen size, platform and orientation) CSS3, information architecture, colors, fonts and other interactive elements to produce a webpage

It encompasses several different aspects, including webpage layout, content production, and graphic design

While the terms web design and web development are often used interchangeably, web design is technically a subset of the broader category of web development

Project #2 - Family Tree Website using Wordpress

Find your family. Discover yourself. Bring to life your family’s history by exploring the lives of those that came before you.

You'll need patience and some time interviewing family members for this project.  Trace your heritage on both sides of the family (The definition of heritage is the background from which one comes) or Genealogy (a line of descent traced continuously from an ancestor).  If you're unable to do this, then trace back the heritage of the Kennedy's (President JFK).

Project #3 - Everything Entertainment using Wordpress

Imagine you can place anything and everything (school appropriate, of course) on a web site that entertains you, your family and friends.

Place a header (title), table(s), text, images, video's, hyper-links that are related to your 5 Senses:

Humans have five basic senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch. The sensing organs associated with each sense send information to the brain to help us understand and perceive the world around us.  Use these 5 senses to demonstrate on your web site how each individual sense can entertain you or the ones around you.
