Mrs. Arija (Aria) Applegate

Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Arija (Aria) Applegate

Hello students and parents,

I'm excited to be your long-term substitute teacher!

Here are a few things you might not know about me: I'm originally from the East Coast, and have moved around a lot during my childhood and college years. I have lived in several states on the East Coast, and have family all over the country. I've lived in California since 1996, and in the Menifee-Murrieta-Temecula area since 2002.

My husband and I taught in San Diego before we moved up here. Mr. Applegate is a 6th grade teacher in another district, and many of you know we have three sons who are in middle school and high school. We also have two cats, Maddy Tiger and Pumpkin, and a puppy named Wini. I love rescuing animals from shelters and neighborhood streets, and I do pet sitting for my friends and family. I love art, music, and literature, and spending time outdoors, especially in the mountains or at the beaches.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Art History (minor in Architectural History) from the State University of New York-Purchase, and a Master's degree in Education from National University-San Diego. I have my Professional Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with an English Learner, Crosscultural, Language, and Academic Development certificate. I also have a supplemental teaching credential in Art. In addition, I've been working on a Single Subject credential in English.

I look forward to working with you all for the next few weeks as we embark upon our new Distance Learning journey!
