    COURSE DESCRIPTION
    This course meets UC/CSU and District graduation requirement for Visual and Performing Arts and incorporates the National Core Art Standards. This first pathway of the Graphic Design program develops beginning to intermediate computer graphic art concepts, skills and techniques. Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator are professional software programs explored through demonstration and studio practice. Emphasis of projects will include the elements and principles of art, composition, design, typography, illustration and photo manipulation to create visual communication associated with advertising art. Students will maintain an art journal that encompasses sketches, notes, and personal reflections of projects and assignments as well as participate in written and oral critiques and self-evaluations
