Title I
Title I of the Federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended (ESEA) provides financial assistance to local educational agencies and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards.
In Murrieta, Title I funds are allocated to its eight eligible elementary schools. Funds primarily support intervention staff, including teachers and paraprofessionals, who work directly with students who demonstrate an academic need. Title I funds are also allocated for the purpose of family engagement.
