Facilities Master Plan

School facilities do more than house classrooms, they shape how students learn, how teachers teach, and how communities connect. This planning effort brings together data, professional expertise, and community input to create a clear, shared understanding of facility needs. It helps districts move beyond reactive fixes and toward intentional, strategic investments that support educational programs, student well-being, safety, and operational efficiency.

Most importantly, a Facility Master Plan creates alignment. It ensures that facility decisions support instructional goals, enrollment trends, and fiscal realities. It does this while providing transparency and accountability to the community. The result is not just a plan, but a framework for making informed choices year after year.

Yes! Community engagement has been a critical part of the Facility Master Plan and Bond Feasibility process from the very beginning. Since August 2025, the District has worked closely with parents, staff, students, community members, school leaders, and local partners to ensure the plan reflects the real needs and priorities of our schools and community.

This has included:

• 6 Facility Committee Meetings bringing together district staff and community volunteers to help guide the planning process.
• 19 School Site Walks conducted with Principals and the Facilities Director to evaluate campus conditions and operational needs.
• 19 Principal Visioning Meetings focused on aligning instructional goals with future learning spaces.
• 18 School Site Council Meetings providing opportunities for school communities to share site-specific feedback and priorities.
• 3 Town Hall Meetings held across feeder patterns to gather public input and share the District’s long-term vision.
• 3 Bond Advisory Committee Meetings with community leaders and stakeholders to discuss priorities, transparency, and long-range planning.
• 2 Community-wide surveys sent to every household in Murrieta and available online.
