To assure broad-based representation, committee members must be in one of the following groups: Business representative, senior citizen, parent of MVUSD student, member of a taxpayer organization, an at-large community member or parent active in MVUSD PTA. Voters approve Measure BB
Measure BB was approved by 57.41 percent of Murrieta voters on November 4, 2014. The bond funds will allow the district to complete the next level of upgrades to Murrieta Valley USD education technology and school facilities. "I'm so thankful to live and teach in a community that places such high value on education," said Murrieta Teachers Association President Kathy Ericson. "The voters have ensured that MVUSD can continue to provide the quality education Murrieta is known for, our stakeholders expect and our students deserve."
Measure BB Campaign Co-Chair Robin Crist said, "As co-chair for Measure BB I am grateful to our community for their continued support of our young people and I am excited for the new opportunities that will be offered to our students!" "A lot of work needs to be done now as we move forward to prioritize repairs to school buildings and grounds, upgrades to classrooms, labs, career-training facilities and implementing the 15-year technology plan," said Bill Olien, Assistant Superintendent of Facilities."
What will Measure BB do?

Measure BB Project Summary
- Expand educational technology and keep it up-to-date
- Upgrade classrooms, labs and equipment for advanced math, science, engineering, and technology instruction to meet rising college/university admission requirements
- Improve career-training classrooms for college and career success in fields like health sciences, engineering, technology, and skilled trades
- Repair or replace leaky roofs, old plumbing, failing electrical, lighting and HVAC systems, indoor and outdoor safety hazards, and other facilities to improve student and staff safety;
- Construct new classrooms and school facilities to accommodate growth in student enrollment
Measure BB FACTS:
- By law, ALL Measure BB funds STAY LOCAL dedicated to Murrieta Valley USD schools ONLY.
- The State CANNOT take Measure BB funding away.
- Measure BB is for school technology and facilities ONLY.
- NO funds are allowed for administrators' salaries.
- Independent Citizens' Oversight and mandatory audits will ensure funds are spent properly.
