Student Teaching & College Field Worker Placement
Student Teaching & College Fieldworker Placements
Welcome to the Murrieta Valley Unified School District. We are proud to partner with universities to develop the next generation of educators and clinicians.
Placement Request Process
If you are seeking a placement in our district, your University Advisor, Placement Coordinator, or Clinical Supervisor must complete the appropriate request form below.
Important: Requests must be submitted at least four weeks in advance. If an assignment spans multiple school years, a new submission is required for each year.
* SLPA Students: Unlike other programs, Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) students are permitted to submit their own placement request forms directly.
Placement Eligibility
We facilitate placements for the following programs:
- Teaching Credentials: General Education & Special Education
- Observations: Any university requirement of 20 hours or more
- Clinical Services: School Psychology, MFT, Counseling, Nursing, OT/COTA, and SLP/SLPA
Guidelines & Restrictions
Before submitting a request, please review the following district policies:
- Conflict of Interest: Students will not be placed at a site where their children attend, where a relative works, or where they are currently employed.
- Employment Status: Current MVUSD employees must request a Leave of Absence from Human Resources to complete their placement.
- MOU Requirement: An active Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) must exist between MVUSD and your University. Lack of an MOU can delay onboarding by 30+ days. [Review MOU Guidelines Here].
- Clearance: Students may not report to any campus until they have received official HR clearance.
Onboarding Requirements
Once a request is accepted, students must complete the following before beginning their placement:
- HR Paperwork: Completion of the official onboarding packet.
- Live Scan: Background and fingerprint clearance.
- TB Test: Documentation of a clear test within the last 60 days.
- Training: Completion of required Keenan online safety modules.
- Interview: Some programs may require an interview as part of the process.
