Class / Club Mrs. Tikasingh Who: All Grades What:: Three different types of choir:
Concert (Concert Choir – Grade Level 6-8) This class is designed for the first year choir student at Shivela. The song literature for this class will develop the full range of the voice and helps to establish a good vocal tone. This class will sing songs that are in unison, canons, rounds, partner songs, and songs in two or three part harmony. This class has open enrollment all year and no experience is required to join. Students will be expected to attend all rehearsals and performances. No experience or audition is necessary to enroll in the Concert Choir.Chorale Chorale – (Grades 6-8) The Concert Choir is a partially auditioned choir class for students in grades 6 - 8. Students in this class are expected to clap basic rhythms, and read basic music notation and are able to sing three or four part harmony songs. Students are expected to attend all rehearsals and performances and demonstrate appropriate rehearsal discipline and performance skills. Chamber (Advanced Chamber – Grade Level 7- 8) This class is designed for the Advance voice students at Shivela. In this class students will sing unison, two, and three part songs mixed songs. This class requires at least one year of previous experience and audition or teacher recommendation. Students must know how to clap basic rhythm patterns and reading music notation is required. Students will be expected to attend all rehearsals and performances. This class is for advance choir students with previous experience! When: Class meets daily, performance are seasonal
