    Leatherneck Club



    The Leatherneck Club is comprised of cadets enrolled in the JROTC program.  The senior ranking cadet at the start of the school year is the club president.  The JROTC instructors are its faculty advisors.

    The purpose of the club is to satisfy a desire to learn about the United States Marine Corps, its traditions, history, and foster a sense of comradery within the Corps of Cadets at Murrieta Valley High School.

    Leatherneck
    is a military slang term for a member of the United States Marine Corps. The term refers to the high leather collar on the Marine Corps uniform designed to protect the neck from a sword blow during battle.
