California Healthy Kids Survey

District students in grades 5, 7, 9 and 11 will be asked to take the California Healthy Kids Survey sponsored by the California Department of Education between March 5 and April 1, depending on the school site.  It will take about one class period or about 50 minutes to complete. 
 

This is a very important survey that will help improve the school learning environment, improve academic achievement, contribute to the health and well-being of our youth, and combat problems such as drug abuse and violence. Participation is voluntary and parent information forms are posted here. 

 

Survey Content

The survey gathers information on the supports the school provides to children; school connectedness; overall school climate and safety; and risky behaviors such as alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use.  MVUSD only administers the core module surveys,  You may review the survey students will take which is listed below. 
 

It is Voluntary

Students who agree to participate with parent permission only have to answer the questions they want to answer and they may stop taking it at any time.  
 

It is Anonymous

 
No names are recorded or attached to the survey forms or data. The results will be made available for analysis only under strict confidentiality controls.  
 

Administration

The survey will be conducted between February 1 and March 23, depending on the school site.  It will take about one class period or about 50 minutes to complete.
