Graduation Event Calendar 2020

    

IMPORTANT GRADUATION DATES for SENIORS

These are the important dates for seniors and their parents to know in order to prepare for graduation from VMHS. Please note: ALL distribution and individual senior appointments MUST adhere to social distancing and public health guidelines. Masks are required and students will be distanced at least 6 feet apart. Only graduating students will be allowed on campus. In some instances, like the grad video and photo opportunity, up to two parents/guardian may accompany student. Exceptions WILL NOT be made for anyone else other than 1-2 parents/guardians. This will be communicated and posted throughout the campus. Follow scheduled time below.

May 7                    Distribution of caps & gowns for students who purchased by the May 3rd deadline

Parents and students were sent an email confirmation regarding May 7 pickup. See below for your scheduled time.

 

May 12                 Cap & Gown Late Purchase and Borrowing Deadline

Purchase and borrowing of caps and gowns must be completed using the attached Jostens order form. It is also possible using this form to purchase only the cap and tassel and borrow a gown for the grad video and photo op. Students who have not purchased or borrowed by May 12 are not able to participate in the grad video and photo opportunity. These caps and gowns will be delivered on the 5/19 and 5/20 grad photo op days (see below).

 

May 19-20           Grad Video and Photo Opportunity plus Textbook Return

--Students taking AP tests at their appointed time may arrive at another time on their assigned day.

Graduating seniors will:

  • Return textbooks.
  • Pick up diploma covers, graduation regalia (i.e. medallions, honor cords, pins), and graduation program.
  • Record a video of student walking in his/ her gown (to be used in the virtual graduation presentation).
  • Have an official photo of student taken by Studio 94 on a stage with a backdrop. Parents will have the opportunity to take a quick photo.
  • Seniors who ordered late or are borrowing will pick up caps & gowns at this time.

 

May 28-29           Senior Check-Out

This is where we verify all seniors have met graduation requirements, cleared all debts, returned textbooks, filled out the senior survey, and are ready for graduation from high school. If all requirements are met, official diplomas are given to the students. Yearbooks will also be distributed to those who purchased one.

 

June 4                    Graduation Day

Watch the virtual graduation together with family and friends across the nation. Opportunities to interact live on screen will be available. Online links will be communicated at a future date.

  

May 19-20 Graduation Video and Photo Opportunity Schedule

 

Senior Check Out update: An updated information and sechedule will be sent home to families to follow for May 28th and May 29th. All students will meet with their counselor to make sure they have met their high school graduation requirements. Counselors will give students their diploma if they have met all requirements.

We ask for students to complete the annual Senior Survey, this is manratory for senior check out. Students will go to surveys.panoramaed.com/murrietavalley  and type in their 9 digit Student ID Number as their access code. If you cannot answer a question, leave it blank.
