Murrieta Elementary is a California Distinguished School!

Murrieta Elementary Schools was named a California Distinguished Schools by the California Department of Education, an award that goes to the state’s most exemplary and inspiring public schools.The highest scoring schools are selected as statewide nominees.Those schools then receive a site visit to validate the accuracy of the information presented in their applications.  
Approximately five percent of California’s public schools are selected for the honor each year. Elementary and secondary schools are recognized during alternate years. “Each member of MVUSD should be proud of their collective efforts to provide a loving, supportive environment, which is being manifested in outstanding student achievement and schools that are respected and supported,” said District Superintendent Pat Kelley. The State Superintendent of Public Instruction and President of the State Board of Education will honor our school elected at an awards ceremony on May 21 at the Disneyland Hotel.
