Principal Mary Walters

waltersMary Walters was appointed principal of Murrieta Mesa High School on June 10, 2008. Walters has twenty-one years experience as an educator. She has served in Murrieta Valley Unified for 17 years, first as a teacher and as an administrator starting in 1996 and as a Deputy Principal at Murrieta Valley High School. Prior to coming to Murrieta Valley Unified, Walters was a mathematics teacher and coach at Perris High School for four years.

In making the announcement, District Superintendent Stan Scheer said, "We are excited about Mary's leadership at Murrieta Mesa High School and we look for her to establish a premier high school educational experience for the future students of Murrieta Mesa High School." Scheer added, "Mary has a wealth of knowledge and administrative experience at the high school level. Her depth of experience coupled with her stellar leadership and organizational skills are only surpassed by her passion for working with students, staff and parents and empowering students to excel." Walters holds a BS in Mathematics from Valparaiso University in Indiana, a M.Ed. in Education Administration from University of California, Riverside and a Tier II Professional Administrative Services Credential.

As Walters develops the school's academic and co-curricular programs she said, “The goal is to involve all Murrieta Mesa students in some type of club, activity, or sport in order to actively engage them in their high school experience and motivate them to thrive academically." Walters has included future students of Murrieta Mesa into the planning process saying, “The students, parents, staff and community are invaluable components of Murrieta Mesa. Their partnership is needed to develop and build a strong culture and traditions.” Walters said, "Opening a new high school is the opportunity of a lifetime and I am honored to be chosen to serve the students, staff, parents and community as Murrieta Mesa High School's principal."

Assistant Principal Martina Beach-Hedges

martinaMartina Beach joined the District in 2001 as an English teacher and Girl's Basketball Coach at Murrieta Valley High School. In 2003, Beach helped open Vista Murrieta High School where she taught English, American Sign Language, and coached three sports. Since 2006, Beach has served as an Assistant Principal at Vista Murrieta where she now oversees Assessment, Staff Development, Leadership Programs and WASC. Beach holds a BA in English from San Diego State University, an MA in School Administration from Azusa Pacific University and a Tier II Credential. 




ellisAssistant Principal Steve Ellis

Steve Ellis joined the District in 2001 as a Science teacher at Murrieta Valley High School. Prior to coming to Murrieta Valley Unified, Ellis spent six years in the Glendale Unified School District teaching Science, coaching Baseball, and serving as the Activities Director. In 2003, Steve moved to Thompson Middle School, where he worked as an Assistant Principal. Ellis holds a BA in Biology and Chemistry from Pt. Loma Nazarene University, an MA in Curriculum and Instruction from PLNU as well as a Tier II Administrative Services Credential.
 
 
 

Dean of Students, David Chambers

Dave Chambers Born and raised in Redondo Beach, Ca. Received his undergraduate degree from Jacksonville State University in Alabama. Received a Masters Degree in Education from Chapman University along with his Tier I admin Credential. Joined MVUSD in 2005 as a physical education teacher at Thompson Middle School for 6th grade boy’s P.E. Prior to joining the district, Chambers was a P.E./Health Teacher as well as the Head Boy’s Volleyball Coach, Asst. Head Football Coach/Defensive coordinator, and an Assistant Wrestling coach at Littlerock High School Near Palmdale. Teaching experience includes a teacher/coach in Alabama and in South Carolina. He plans to finish his tier II credential at CSU Fullerton next school year.
