      California State University Mentor guides students in grades 6-12 through a roadmap to college.

      Peterson's offers such free guidance programs as "College Wants You" to help students connect to universities. It also publishes comprehensive books on colleges, which can be purchased on the Web site and at bookstores.

      The Princeton Review allows students to explore hundreds of universities, which are rated by the Princeton Review based on such categories as athletics and academics. It also offers books about the best colleges and "Counselor-o-matic," which helps connect students' academic record and activities with colleges that may be right for them.

      The College Board offers Internet links to more than 3,800 colleges and universities in the United States. Many schools then offer online campus tours and online applications. Also offers students information on college entrance exams and requirements.
