Welcome to Tovashal Elementary School where our mission is to build excellence based on a strong foundation in phonics skills, math, science, social studies and the arts.With the support of our staff, parents, and community, we are committed to helping each student become a contributing member of society and instilling in students the desire to become a life long learner.At Tovashal students are taught to respect themselves and others through character building activities. Teachers maintain high expectations as they use a variety of instructional strategies to actively involve students in learning. Students are given opportunities to use higher level thinking skills by analyzing, problem solving and applying what they have learned. Appropriate homework assignments are given daily at all grade levels in order to reinforce academic skills and develop responsibility in our students.Communication between teachers and families occurs regularly through individual conferences, written notes, classroom bulletins, and monthly school newsletters. Parents are also an integral part of the success of Tovashal. Our PTA is involved in all facets of the school environment and we sincerely appreciate their contributions. With this spirit of cooperation, great achievements are possible.
