NEW School Attendance Boundaries
On February 13, 2025 the Murrieta Valley USD Board of Education approved an attendance boundary change which reassigns elementary and middle school boundaries effective the 2025-26 school year.
This boundary change is critical to alleviate overcrowding at schools west of the 15 Freeway, while also preparing for future housing developments permitted within the city limits.
There are now two school locators on our website, one for students attending prior to the 2024-25 school year and another for new students who will be attending Murrieta schools in the 2025-26 school year and after.
In accordance with Board Action:
- (Grades TK-8) Elementary & middle school neighborhood boundaries have changed.
- (Grades 9-12) High school boundaries remain the same. Those did not change.
-
Inter-district transfers: students with older siblings in the district may be grandfathered into the older boundaries based on older sibling enrollment, subject to grade-level and program availability.
- New students starting in the 2025-26 school year will adhere to the new school attendance boundaries.
- Current students are phased into the new boundaries over several years (see chart below). They stay in their current school pattern until they reach a grade span change.
