• About Thompson

    Thompson Middle School, a Gold Ribbon School and a California Distinguished School, serves students in grades six through eight.  Thompson Middle School is committed to quality educational programs for all students.  To this end, we will continue to use standards-based curriculum and tests to provide a strong base for our instructional program.  We want to develop each student’s skills to meet life’s challenges with honesty, integrity, courage, and the desire to reach for intellectual and personal excellence for the betterment of the community, the nation, and the world.

    Description of Campus

    Thompson Middle School opened in 1994 and moved to their current site in 1996.  The school has 54 classrooms, a multipurpose room, five science labs, boys’ and girls’ locker rooms, a gymnasium and sports fields. In addition, the school has a library, 3 full-sized computer labs, student computers in every classroom, cafeteria, administrative offices, and staff lounge. 

    Instructional Goals/Program

    The administration, support staff, teachers, and parents are all active participants in providing direction and resources for the improvement of the instructional program at Thompson.  Thompson Middle School students attend an academically challenging six-period school day. The curriculum centers on the core areas of language arts, math, social studies and science closely aligned with state standards and enhanced by physical education and exploratory courses. Regular classes, advanced classes in the core subjects, and intervention classes to improve basic skills are all designed to improve our students; opportunities for success in high school.
