Greetings and welcome to the Thompson Middle School web site!
Please take this opportunity to browse through the pages to learn more about our school, and please return often to stay informed about events and activities at TMS.
Our focus at Thompson is to inspire all kids to think, to learn, to achieve, and to care with P.R.I.D.E. (Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Excellence). At Thompson we are committed to the academic and social success of all students – we understand the importance of addressing the whole child.
To this end, we offer a full range of programs and activities including, but not limited to Advanced and Accelerated courses, AVID, Band, Choir, Drama, Color Guard, Spanish, Art, Academic interventions, ASB, WEB, Yearbook, Photography, Video Production, Robotics, and Intramural Sports, to name just a few. Each Monday we utilize PRIDE Time to connect with our students and foster their social skills and attend to their emotional well-being. It is our goal that every student feels welcomed, safe, connected and supported at our school.
Our Thompson staff is committed to student learning and achievement and as such we utilize Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) where teachers collaborate and share ideas, identify and establish goals, monitor student progress, and respond to needs for intervention or acceleration. This integral teacher collaboration time takes place on our early out Mondays.
The middle school years are pivotal in the life of your child and we are privileged to partner with you during this very unique time in your child’s life. It is because of this, we hope that you will stay involved and connected and keep the lines of communication open. Please consider joining and volunteering for our PTSA and School Site Council and attend school functions and information nights. Please contact your child's teacher to address any concerns via email, telephone, or through a personal conference. The teacher is the person who will have the most direct information to address most questions or concerns. We strive to provide a high standard of service to our students and their families.
We look forward to another exciting year at Thompson Middle School. For more information about Murrieta Valley Unified School District, please visit the district website.
Always in partnership,
Mrs. Kerry Cody
