Classroom Guidance Lessons

  •  Counselors at WSMS present classroom guidance lessons to the students several times a year.   The guidance curriculum promotes knowledge, attitudes, and skills through instruction in three content areas:  academic achievement, career development, and personal/social growth.   Listed below are the topics presented by grade level:

    Grade 7

    • 7th Grade Academic Guidance (Transcript/GPA review)
    • Sexual Harassment (Riverside Area Rape Crisis Center)

    • Substance Abuse (S.H.A.E Project)
    • College & Career Readiness (California Colleges)

    Grade 8

    • Beginning with the End in Mind (Promotion/End of Year)
    • Sexual Harassment (Riverside Area Rape Crisis Center)
    • High School/College Overview (A-G Requirements, Transcript/GPA Review)
    • Substance Abuse (S.H.A.E Project)
    • Cyberbullying
