New Principal Announced

Gabriela DiGiovanni named as Thompson's 2024-25 Principal

Our district community is fortunate to have a pool of talented administrators who bring the expertise, instructional skills and commitment needed to continue Thompson’s pursuit of showing P.R.I.D.E. in everything they do.

With that said, Dr. Andrus states, “It is my absolute pleasure to introduce Mrs. Gabriela DiGiovanni as the next Thompson Middle School Principal. Her steadfast leadership in our district, commitment to collaboration, and educational skills match the needs of the Thompson Middle School students and staff.”

Gabriela DiGiovanni, currently Principal of Learn@Home K-12, has been a part of the Murrieta community since 2001. She began as a Lead School Psychologist, then promoted to Coordinator of Student Support, Assistant Principal at Warm Springs Middle School, then Principal of Learn@Home. Before our district, Mrs. DiGiovanni worked in various positions in San Diego Unified School District.

As a lifelong learner, Gabriela has a BS in Biology/Psychology from UC San Diego, a Master of Science in School Psychology from National University and is currently a Doctoral student in Educational Leadership and Management. She holds an Administrative Services Credential from the Riverside County Office of Education and a Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential from National University.

Mrs. DiGiovanni is excited to make the transition to her new position at Thompson Middle School effective July 1. Gabriela shares, “I am thrilled and honored to join our TMS community where educational distinction has remained a priority. I am dedicated to continuing to work alongside our committed educators, families, and community partners in fostering a positive and inclusive environment where every student can continue to thrive through the tenets of Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Determination and Excellence. With the community’s unwavering support, TMS will continue to deliver rigorous academic experiences, vibrant programs and activities where scholars can continue to excel in their learning while developing their confidence. Together, we will continue to achieve greatly!”

Gabriela is a proud district parent. Her daughter graduated from our district in 2022, and her two sons are currently high school students. One is a first-year student; the other is a senior. Gabriela and her husband, Frank, a Marine Corps and Army Reserves veteran, enjoy spending time with their family and dog Scooby. Please join us in congratulating and welcoming Mrs. DiGiovanni in her new position.
