Welcome to Thompson Middle School's Counseling Page!
.
We are committed to the American School Counseling Association's National Standards for counseling programs. We strive to provide services in the three domains of the national standards
- Academic
- College & Career Readiness
- Social Emotional
Our Mission Statement reflects this commitment
Create connections with students and the community to inspire:- Relationships based on dignity and respect
- Passion towards life long learning
- Pursuit of their talents and potential
- Confidence in themselves to be their own advocates
Counselors at TMS are assigned by grade level and follow the students to their next grade. This allows students to stay with the same counselor all three years and develop a relationship with their counselor. If there are concerns with a student's teacher, parents are asked to contact the teacher first. If there are still difficulties after a parent/ teacher conference, parents may then contact the counselor for further assistance.
