Document Confirmation- The Aeries Parent Portal, annual document confirmation is now open. This is a required first step into the new school year. The purpose of the document confirmation/registration process is to update student contact information including emergency contacts, update health information, and to review all notices and authorizations for the school year.
This step must be completed before the teacher assignments and schedules are released. For parents/guardians who prefer the documents in Spanish, please select Spanish on the Aeries log-in screen from the drop-down menu on the right-hand corner.
During this document confirmation/registration process, we encourage you to ensure your email and mobile number are correct. This information is used for all official school and district communication sent via email, text, and phone to all parents/guardians. Attached is a flyer with information on how to download the app and change your personal notification and language settings.
School Focus- We will continue our focus on all students learning at high levels. Our latest local and state tests scores continue to be one of the highest in the district and the county, but we recognize a few growth areas as well.
Panorama survey measures indicate a very positive school culture where kids feel safe to learn and respect one another, modeled each day by our caring and competent staff. We will continue to focus on continuous improvement.
Our school will continue to use the Professional Learning Community model to unpack site-wide academic and behavioral data through tight teacher collaboration. Our district remains committed to supporting our site with high quality professional development in areas of need. In addition, we look to use our time and resources effectively to strengthen our multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) to meet the needs of all students in both academics and positive behavior.
This year we will roll out a site-wide reading incentive program and provide more parent nights to educate our school community on the importance of reading. I want to thank you ahead of time for your support in these focus areas for the 2023-24 school year. We honor this important partnership!
Cole Canyon is working alongside Family Services to provide extended learning opportunities for all students in grades TK-5. Our MPR will be open at 7:30am
Our 2023-24 Administrative Team adds two new key administrators to our Cole family.
Assistant Principal Katelynn Wheeler, is on her 10th year as an educator and comes from an extensive background as an elementary classroom teacher and in instructional leadership roles, holding positions as a site administrator and math specialist in Arizona and Northern California. She earned her doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Liberty University. Dr. Wheeler is very excited to join our team and will be a great addition to our school community!
Rebecca Lane is our new Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) Assistant Principal. She has been working in the Murrieta Valley Unified School District for the past 21 years. She has taught 6-8 grade language arts and social studies and has held many positions at both the middle and high school levels. For the past 10 years, she has worked at Vista Murrieta High School as an English teacher and Renaissance Student Leadership Advisor.
In addition to Dr. Wheeler and Ms. Lane, Principal Shaw and Mr. Zanartu, our school counselor, are here to serve our school community. Our administrative team supports all staff and is committed to building meaningful and lasting relationships with each of our families.
We look forward to starting a new school year! Thank you for your continued support, Cole Canyon Families… and do not forget to get your document confirmations completed ahead of August 7th!
