  • MVUSD Class of 2024,

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for all students and the California Dream Act Application (CADAA), for undocumented students' deadline is approaching on April 1, 2024.

FAFSA/CADAA allows students to be considered to receive:

    • Federal Aid (FAFSA applicants only)
    • State Aid (FAFSA/CADAA applicants)
      • Cal Grant programs (various)
      • Middle Class Scholarship
      • CA Chafee Grant – Foster Youth
    • Institutional Aid, ex. Scholarships, Work Study
    • Student Loans

Completing a FAFSA or CADAA provides access to students and their families to various financial aid options to make informed decisions about pursuing post-secondary educational options.

Last year, state legislation was passed (AB 469) that requires all California seniors, beginning with the 22-23 academic school year, to complete a FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application unless the student has formally submitted an opt-out waiver by the end of their senior year. If you wish to opt out, please fill out the form and turn it in to your child’s counselor. See document panel to the left for all forms.

Murrieta Valley USD high school counselors have already reviewed the FAFSA process with your student and sent information to you regarding FAFSA and assistance from Cal-SOAP coaches. Cal-SOAP coaches are also available at each high school campus to assist students with completing the FAFSA in person and virtual formats. Students are encouraged to launch their FAFSA/CADAA application through their assigned California Colleges account.
