Welcome Families,

My name is Jessica Bhatt Smylie, but students and families simply know me as Mrs. Smylie. It's an honor to be part of such a wonderful community here at Lisa J. Mails. I've truly enjoyed teaching second grade here the past few years, and I am so very excited to be joining the first grade team this year! Prior to my time at Mails, I taught for five years in Temecula- one year as a K/1 combo teacher and four years in first grade. It brings me so much joy to work with students each day, learn about their unique talents and interests, and share the magic of learning with them. 

It is my mission to instill a love of learning within my students and to create a classroom community that welcomes and embraces each unique learner. In our class, we will collaborate, encourage one another, have fun, and work hard to do all things with H.E.A.R.T! 

Outside of school, my very favorite thing to do is spend time with my husband and our two boys. We love playing outside, and we especially enjoy beach days with family. 

I look forward to working with you to make this year meaningful and memorable for your child. I consider it a special gift to spend each school year with amazing young people. Thank you so much for sharing yours with me!
