Mrs. Maria Serrano

I have been teaching at the elementary school level since 1993.  Meeting new families, developing positive long-lasting relationships, and watching my students grow in many ways during the course of a school year is an honor, and I am grateful to be a part of it.

I believe that the most important academic strategy you can use is to help your children learn is to read to them, read with them, and listen to them read. One of my goals as a teacher is to instill curiosity and the love for learning in my students to help them become more independent life-long learners.  Some of the things I love are nature, animals, and photography. Thus, in my classroom, I take a lot of joy in fostering appreciation, protection, and conservation of our natural world and all the creatures who inhabit it.
