The present progressive expresses an action that is happeningright now.

To form the present progressive use:

      ESTAR+present participle

To form the present participle drop the last two letters of the verb and add:

                    -ando

                    -iendo

      Estoyhablando.

      Él está jugando con sus amigos

Review of reflexive verbs

Some verbs are reflexive in Spanish. They are verbs that end with a “se.” Some are always reflexive while some change depending on the situation.

When conjugating these verbs you must also change the reflexive pronoun to match the subject.

Reflexives in the presente progresivo?

If you are using a reflexive verb in the present progressives the reflexive pronoun can either:

1. Be put in front of ESTAR

        Me estoy bañando

Or

2. Be attached to the present participle(ando/iendo).

        Estoy bañándome

If you do this, you must add an accent!
