When do you use the verb TENER? Use the verb tener to talk about what a person has.

     I have blonde hair.
     Tengo el pelo rubio.
     He has a car.
     Él tiene un carro.

Tener is also used to talk about how old a person is. (how many years they have)

¿Cuántos años tienes?
How old are you?
How many years do you have?

Tengo dieciseis años.
I am 16.
I have 16 years.
