Graduation Requirements
To earn a high school diploma from Murrieta Mesa High School, a student must:
1. Successfully complete a minimum of 230 semester credits of the specific requirements as indicated below:
a. ENGLISH - 4 years 40 SEMESTER CREDITS
b. MATHEMATICS - 3 years 30 SEMESTER CREDITS
Algebra I required
c. SCIENCE - 3 years
Physical Science 10 SEMESTER CREDITS
Life Science 10 SEMESTER CREDITS
Additional Science 10 SEMESTER CREDITS
d. SOCIAL SCIENCE - 3 years
Modern World History—10th 10 SEMESTER CREDITS
U.S. History-11th 10 SEMESTER CREDITS
U.S. Government/Economics-12th 10 SEMESTER CREDITS
e. VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS - 1 year 10 SEMESTER CREDITS
*UC/CSU requires one year of the same Visual/Performing art.
f. WORLD LANGUAGES - 1 year 10 SEMESTER CREDITS
g. PHYSICAL EDUCATION - 2 years 20 SEMESTER CREDITS
h. HEALTH - 1 semester 5 CREDITS & INFORMATION, COMMUNICATION, TECHNOLOGY & CAREERS(ICT) - 1 semester 5 CREDITS
i. GENERAL ELECTIVES - 50 SEMESTER CREDITS
2. Community Service: Each student must participate in 40 hours of volunteer work in an approved community service project/program. (Must be a non-profit organization)
