Importance of Attendance
Consistent attendance fosters a sense of responsibility, discipline, and routine, laying the foundation for students to develop lifelong skills essential for personal and academic growth. In addition, attendance is correlated to a student's mental health and overall well-being.
- Sense of Belonging: Students who attend school regularly are more likely to feel connected to their school community. This sense of belonging can reduce feelings of isolation and improve overall mental health
- Access to Support: School provides access to mental health resources, such as counselors and support groups. Regular attendance ensures students can take advantage of these services when needed
- Early Intervention: Teachers and school staff can identify signs of mental health issues early on when students attend regularly. Early intervention can prevent more serious problems from developing
- Healthy Habits: Being in school promotes healthy behaviors, such as regular sleep patterns and physical activity, which are beneficial for mental health
