Title 1Title I of the Federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended (ESEA) provides financial assistance to local educational agencies and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards.
Any local educational agency (LEA) receiving federal Title I funds is required to have a state approved LEA Plan. It is to be developed in consultation with teachers, principals, administrators, other appropriate school personnel, and parents. The LEA Plan is a district-level plan required by Section 1112 of the 2001 reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act titled the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB).
Plans must be reviewed on an annual basis and updated to address the LEA’s current student achievement data and other data related to the goals in the plan. The Elementary and Secondary Education Act is currently being reauthorized, and resubmission of the LEA Plan to CDE will not be required until that occurs.Download the MVUSD LEA PlanThe following district schools are designated as Title 1 schools:
