Student Enrichment and Extended Day includingKindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten Wrap Around
The following is a brief summary of the Student Enrichment and Extended Day Program (SEED). Parents are encouraged to refer to the SEED Parent Manual and Contract for information regarding the rules and conditions governing enrollment in the SEED Program.
The Student Enrichment and Extended Day (SEED) program for school age child care was established in 1982 to meet the need for before and after school child care for students who are enrolled in the District. The SEED program is currently offered at each of the District's elementary schools.
SEED sessions begin at 6:30 a.m. and continue until the morning start of school. Afternoon sessions begin at the end of the school day and go until 6:00 p.m. Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten Wrap Around sessions are available to assist parents before and after Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten sessions.The SEED sites are staffed by district employees with an adult to student ratio of 2:28. All employees have received First Aid, CPR training and receive regular staff development.Kindergarten Hear I Come WorkshopEase the transition to Kindergarten for you and your child. Join us for a fun filled evening of education and entertainment. Understand Transitional Kindergarten, meet Kindergarten teachers and school principals, learn about school readiness preparation, receive a summer readiness packet, and tour Kindergarten classrooms. Most events are scheduled in May. Check with school office where you registered for Kindergarten for their workshop date and time. Child care for children over three and potty trained available.
