• District Transfers

It is the general intent of the district that students attend their neighborhood schools - that is, the school that serves the attendance area in which they reside. However, the district also supports the concept of school choice within the limitations of space availability.

    Acceptance Requirements for New Applicants:

Elementary students in Grades 3-5 are required to show satisfactory academic progress on their standards-based academic history.

Secondary students must have a 2.0 Grade Point Average without any “F” Grades.

Students are required to have 90% or better attendance.

Successful applicants will not have poor behavior histories.  Extensive minor incidents and/or suspensions within the prior two years may be grounds for denial.

Acceptance Requirements for Renewal of Transfer:

Renewals will be granted provided the pupil’s attendance, citizenship, and scholarship remain satisfactory.  Students in danger of transfer revocation will be placed on an intervention contract with specific conditions.

There are three processes by which a parent may request approval to attend a school other than their neighborhood school. INTRA-district transfer requests pertain to a student who lives in the Murrieta Valley USD boundaries, but desires to attend a school other than their neighborhood designated Murrieta Valley USD school.  INTRA-district means within the school district. INTER-district transfer requests pertain to students who live outside the Murrieta Valley USD boundaries (Temecula, Menifee, Wildomar/Lake Elsinore etc.) and the student desires to attend a school in the Murrieta Valley USD.  INTER-district transfers OUT of Murrieta Valley USD requests pertain to students who live in the Murrieta Valley USD boundaries and want to transfer out of the district.

OPEN ENROLLMENT  for INTRADISTRICT transfers is from November 4, 2024 to February 18, 2025

OPEN ENROLLMENT for INTERDISTRICT transfers is from January 6, 2025 to February 18, 2025

If applications exceed the spaces available for transfer, a lottery will be held for approval. A first-come, first-served system does not apply.
