• Assistance League of Temecula Valley

    Assistance League of Temecula Valley is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that puts caring and commitment into action.  Their dedicated volunteers cheerfully give more than 30,000 hours annually to serve and fund their philanthropic programs in Southwest Riverside County.  Assistance League volunteers transform the lives of children, teens and MVUSD teachers through: 

    Operation School Bell - provides brand new clothing to underserved children. Through agreements with Kohl’s in Temecula, Murrieta and Menifee, children Volunteer helps children shop for clothes come to the stores during their appointment time and select the school appropriate items they need with their parents free of charge. Each student is allotted $125 during this ‘shopping event.’

    Assisteens -  provides volunteer opportunities for boys and girls in grades 7-12. The goals of participation are to develop a sense of community responsibility, self-reliance, personal responsibility, poise, public speaking and leadership skills.

    Operation Foster Youth- collaborates with local foster care homes and foster family agencies to provide the basic essentials of clothing and necessary supplies for children entering the foster care system. They also provide support for foster youth making the transition into adulthood. 

    Operation Scholarships - awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors in our district.  Also, awards project grants to district teachers on a rotating basis to enable them to provide enrichment activities for their students. 

    Operation Shades - provides a series of financial literacy classes for targeted high school youth, ages 16-18 and  emancipated foster youth. The instruction includes goal setting, savings, banking, budgeting, credit, car buying and essentials of the job search. At the end of the day, each student receives a completion certificate and a pair of ‘SHADES’ because their futures will be so bright.
