Parent Center
The Family Services Parent Centers' mission is to provide high quality educational support services to parents, professionals, and community members living and working in Southwest Riverside County. The Parent Center offers a number of low or no-cost parenting programs, classes and a library with books and pamphlets on parenting, child development and other specialty topics. The following basic and advanced parenting classes are available throughout the year. Child care is available during some classes. Please refer to the class flyer for dates, times and child care availability.
- Nurturing Parenting is an interactive ten-week class that will help you better understand your role as a parent, help strengthen your relationship and create a bond with your child. Learn new strategies and skills to improve your child's behavior. Develop self-care, empathy, and self-awareness.
- Triple P Parenting Flyer suggests simple routines and small changes that can make a big difference to your family. The program consists of eight 2 hour classes and will help you understand the way your family works and uses the things you already say, think, feel, and do in new ways to create a supportive environment; encourage behaviors you like; deal positively, consistently and decisively with problem behavior; build positive relationships with your children, so that conflict can be resolved; plan ahead to avoid or manage potentially difficult situations; and take care of yourself as a parent.
- Incredible Years is a series for parents of children from birth through five years of age. This program strengthens parenting skills by focusing on play; praise and rewards; effective limit setting and dealing with noncompliance; and handling misbehavior, time out and preventive approaches.
