Dear Students,

I am excited about being your teacher this year! This year you will learn a lot of new & challenging concepts but you will also have a great time in my class!  My teaching philosophy is that I believe that all students are capable of learning rigorous mathematical concepts.  I also believe that M.A.T.H. stands for Mistakes Allow Thinking to Happen. I firmly believe in a growth mindset and I can't wait to see the 'brain gains' you make this year.  Be ready to be challenged with tough concepts, but know that I will be here to support you throughout any struggles you face in math (or in life).  Know that I am here to support you with whatever you need to help you reach your academic goals. My goal is to help you reach yours!

About Me:  I have been teaching high school mathematics since 2004. I have worked at VMHS since 2019.  I am currently an adjunct professor at Cal Baptist University (CBU) teaching college mathematics.  I love learning and teaching math. I believe it is what I was born to do.  I really enjoy seeing students who have previously struggled with math finally get it, and have those light bulb moments when everything starts to click.  I have two beautiful children that are about the same age as you.   I am very involved at VMHS, as I have coached JVR Girls soccer for 3 years and currently am the advisor for 3 clubs on campus: Interact Community Service Club,  Save the Ocean Club, and the newly founded Makeup Artistry Club.  Please see me if you are interested in getting involved in any of these extracurricular activities at our school.
