"Building better citizens for America"
Established in 2009, the Vista Murrieta Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (VMHS JROTC) has unceasingly pursued its mission to "build better citizens for America." Cadets can expect to be instructed in the ways of citizenship, service, responsibility, and self-discipline - and to be held to the highest standard of excellence. This culture of perpetual improvement is supplemented by the Air Force core values of Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence all in we do. These aspects come together to create an environment that is centered on providing each cadet with lessons to last a lifetime.
Now in its tenth year running, the VMHS JROTC program has enrolled over 250 cadets for the 2019-2020 school year; almost 10% of the entire student body. Each of the over 250 students receives an education in the many aspects of leadership, supplemented by Air Force values - with much of it personally funded by the Department of Defense. The curriculum includes the science and history of aviation, health, character development, ethics, global politics, and physical training. Each cadet finishes the course with a new perspective on their country, and are all the better for it.
There truly is no other leadership program on campus quite like the JROTC program. To those who consider joining, keep in mind:
