Advanced Placement United States GovernmentCourse # 1701Grade Level: 12Prerequisite: NoneLength: YearThis course meets UC/CSU (A) and District history requirements. This course gives an analytical perspective of government and politics in th U.S. and involves the study of general concepts used to interpret U.S. politics and the analysis of specific case studies. It also requires familiarity with various institutions, groups, beliefs, and ideas that constitute the reality of U.S. politics. This course encompasses the study of general concepts used to interpret the key political relationships found in virtually all national politics. The course work includes a research paper, SAT and AP test preparation and encompasses economics instruction. Students are expected to take the AP exam.
