I teach Chemistry here at Vista Murrieta High School. Chemistry is a year-long college preporatory course that is lab-based and fulfills both the UC and CSU requirements for a lab-based physical science. It requires memorization, competent math skills, abstract thinking, technical reading ability, good lab skills, and complex problem solving skills. To be successful in chemistry you must take responsibility for individual learning and maintain a good work ethic.About MeGrowing up I loved both math and science. I was always fascinated and curious how our world works. I guess I was destined to become a science teacher. After high school, I attended UC Riverside and graduated Summa Cum Laude with degrees in both Biology and Psychology. I then continued my education at UC San Diego to get my California Teaching Credential in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology, as well as my Masters in Education. You would think that I had had enough of school, but I was thirsty for more knowledge. Thus, I returned to UC Riverside and earned my Masters in Science in Biomedical Sciences. While at UCR I conducted research in the digestive system and had the opportunity to TA in Human Anatomy and work with medical school students and cadavers. So much fun! In 2007, I returned to the classroom and have been teaching science to high school students ever since. I have taught Biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, and Human Anatomy & Physiology. I love what I do and am excited and blessed to be working with young adults on a daily basis. I hope to bring my love of science to my classroom as well.
